Crossbow Group Develops Innovative Annual Report for Westport Public Library
Members of the Westport Community have been commenting on the interesting new “interactive” annual report recently mailed out to Westport Public Library patrons and donors. The concept for this year’s effort - “I ____ at the Westport Public Library” – was inspired by Library Director Maxine Bleiweis’s desire to communicate the notion that the library is the key nexus point for the community, not just a place to take out a book or read a periodical. “The library has become the nerve center for the community, a non-partisan, non-denominational community center where everyone is welcome” said Bleiweis. “I‘m very pleased that that team at Crossbow Group was able to communicate this idea in such a fresh and engaging way”.

Featuring a wide range of community members – from 12 year old volunteer to an octogenarian using the mail-a-book program to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg who wrote his bestselling book at the library – the 2006 report shares the diverse ways that Westport community members integrate the library into their lives.
“I think it is the most interestingly presented Annual Report I have ever read, from any company or organization”, wrote Barbara Howard, a longtime Westport resident and library supporter.
Conceived by Westport’s own Scott Stagg, the report is available at the Westport Library or by request at 203-291-4800 or through www.westportlibrary.org.
