Leadership Matters

Crossbow Group comprises a talented group of direct marketing and e-commerce professionals experienced in the sophisticated process of targeting, reaching and converting prospects into long-term customers. In addition, we've formed a number of key strategic and technology partnerships that allow us to deliver superior work affordably.


Founder: Bill Mirbach

Our founder is H. William Mirbach. In 1984, Bill founded the company that went on to bear his name for 16 years. Using innovative direct marketing techniques (some of which he pioneered), he built Mirbach into an elite agency specializing in high-tech direct marketing. Then, as President and CEO of Netledger.com, he worked with Larry Ellison of Oracle, the company's Chairman, to apply his considerable knowledge of direct marketing and the web to the burgeoning application service provider (ASP) marketplace. Bill is a former Procter and Gamble Brand Manager and a graduate of Harvard Business School.

President and CEO: Jay Bower

Jay has broad strategic and implementation experience in relationship/continuity marketing and e-commerce. He's led strategic and tactical engagements with over 250 companies ranging from Fortune 500 multinationals to start-ups. Before his return to the company, he served as Vice President and co-founder of the e-business consultancy Prescients, where he helped craft online strategies for PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Gartner Group, Media Metrix and Cendant (Century 21). Previously at Blau Marketing Technologies (EuroRSC6 4D), Jay helped IBM's PC Company develop web-based relationships with its largest corporate clients. At Bantam Doubleday Dell and Newbridge Communications, he directed continuity and customer relationship marketing programs. He has been quoted in USA Today, Fortune, and BusinessWeek. Jay is a published author, having co-written The Official Guide to One-Write Plus (Amazon sales rank 2,362,943!) He has a B.A. in Philosophy from Colgate University, an M.B.A. from The Stern School of Business, NYU, and completed the e-B2B Program at Harvard Business School.

COO : Mary Plamieniak
No idea, regardless of its potential, is any better than its execution. Knowing this has guided Mary during the last six years in her role as Mirbach's Production Director. She brings a wealth of experience and know-how to her role as Chief Operating Officer. Mary has saved our clients hundreds of thousands of dollars and ensured them that the quality of our work meets our rigorous standards and those of our clients. Previously, in production and account management roles for GDI/The River Group, FPS Marketing Group and Promotion Development Corporation, Mary worked to realize the business objectives of clients including Citicorp, TransWorld Airlines and SNET. She is a graduate of Sacred Heart University.
